Houdini Folder-Based File Importer Tool
Houdini Folder-Based File Importer Tool is a Houdini utility for importing large sets of geometry files based on directory structure.
The tool scans a specified root folder, iterates through subdirectories, and imports geometry files while preserving folder-based grouping and naming. This allows external assets to be brought into Houdini in a deterministic and repeatable way.
The tool is typically used at the beginning of a pipeline when receiving external geometry for further procedural processing or export. It removes the need for manual import setup and keeps asset structure aligned with on-disk organization.
Notes and limitations:
- Assumes familiarity with Houdini node-based workflows
- File formats and import behavior depend on Houdini defaults
- The tool focuses on structure and consistency, not asset validation
Contents:
- Houdini Digital Asset (HDA)
